Determining Your Setup

The "Setup" filter helps you to focus on those presets best-suited for how you use your Axe-Fx.

FRFR/Direct presets (like all of the Factory presets) are designed for "full-range flat-response" systems such as studio monitors, PAs, headphones, etc.

Pwr. Amp + Cab presets use real power amps and guitar speakers.

4-Cable Method (aka :4CM") presets require a special setup with connectors both in front of and in the effects loop of a real amp.

Fx Loop presets in the loop of a real amp. A loop may be SERIES or PARALLEL and the preset needs to be built accordingly.

Gtr Amp Input presets should be used in front of a (real) head or combo. Guitar->Axe-Fx->Amp Input.

Other setups also exist (e.g. combinations of the above).

The Axe-Fx II manual (chapter three) includes more information about setups.

"Cab" search results ignore the settings of this filter.

Set Up Direct

Description This is a fairly loaded up preset. However, at it's core is some Dumble goodness. There is both the ODS100 MD & the Ford 1 dialed in on the X/Y, so try 'em both. Also both X/Y drives are dialed it & don't forget about using the boost on the amp as well if you want to set up your own scenes. Try different combos of drives/boost/filter block for the clean boost. ** OK now for ROW 3: This is actually one effect. What it is, or I should say, what it does is it adds an Octave Lower just on the lower strings and cuts off somewhere approx around the 7th fret on the A string. You can adjust the cutoff freq in the X-Over Block with the Freq Parameter. You'll probably have to adjust some of the levels in these blocks depending on your gear and how much low end it puts out. ***The second Reverb Block, (the one at the very end) use the Mix control to get more or less of the room effect. It can be pretty cool subtly or cranked way up, ya might want to turn the other verb off. I did setup the scenes a bit, but there's a lot of possible options in this patch so experiment. If you have any questions or suggestions feel free to email me at planckaudio@gmail.com I'll be working on this patch for a bit to try & improve the octave effect, so if you dig it check back from time to time & see if I've updated it. I'll leave an Edit note with the date here. Also, if any of you come up with something, please let me know so we can get it in here! ***** 12/22/2017 ***** EDIT: Okay, I discovered an obvious and easy to make edit for the Bass effect that will greatly improve the cut off. What you need to do is tie two modifiers, both will have identical settings, you need two cause there are two seperate Levels 1 & 2 in the Octave Div in the Pitch Block. Anyway, tie the Modifiers to PITCH in the Modifier Drop Down Menu under Source. Then Set the Following 4 Parameters: START:38, MID:0, END:0, SCALE:1.090. Obviously feel free to mess around with any of these settings to adjust the cut off point. But this puts a much more precise cut off. You may want to raise the level up on the last EQ or make adjustments elsewhere. If you want the updated patch just email me, I'm happy to send it to ya, I didn't wanna load this same patch to here again just for a modifier.
