Determining Your Setup

The "Setup" filter helps you to focus on those presets best-suited for how you use your Axe-Fx.

FRFR/Direct presets (like all of the Factory presets) are designed for "full-range flat-response" systems such as studio monitors, PAs, headphones, etc.

Pwr. Amp + Cab presets use real power amps and guitar speakers.

4-Cable Method (aka :4CM") presets require a special setup with connectors both in front of and in the effects loop of a real amp.

Fx Loop presets in the loop of a real amp. A loop may be SERIES or PARALLEL and the preset needs to be built accordingly.

Gtr Amp Input presets should be used in front of a (real) head or combo. Guitar->Axe-Fx->Amp Input.

Other setups also exist (e.g. combinations of the above).

The Axe-Fx II manual (chapter three) includes more information about setups.

"Cab" search results ignore the settings of this filter.

Description As seen on this video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1MCLkNb-kI This is a 5 scenes preset to cover "Ashes" by Pain of Salvation without a keyboard player Scene 1 = clean Scene 2 = rhythm + A min chord played by the synth block Scene 3 = rhythm + F chord played by the synth block Scene 4 = rhythm + D min chord played by the synth block Scene 5 = lead * For the keyboard parts, I didn't use the same chord voicings as the original ; if I did, the two highest notes would stay the same but then it would not blend well with my guitar. I do love the original voicings but it didn't worked well here. * Cab block X = GH ThisOne, cab block Y = a custom mix of a Redwirez cab, see the screenshot (#87) in my V14.02 presets here : http://axefremen.blogspot.com/2014/04/firmware-1402-presets.html * The layout is a little tricky ; I used filter blocks, which are muted when bypassed, to route my clean guitar through the chorus used for the synth blocks, and also my lead sound through the enhancer, BUT the rhythm sound follows another route. When "keyboard"/rhythm are played together (scenes 2 to 4), the keyboard goes through the enhancer to be panned hard left/hard right while the ryhthm guitar stays in the middle, for better separation between them. * For the swells parts after the second chorus, first raise external expression pedal 1 (toe up), then use external pedal 3
