Determining Your Setup

The "Setup" filter helps you to focus on those presets best-suited for how you use your Axe-Fx.

FRFR/Direct presets (like all of the Factory presets) are designed for "full-range flat-response" systems such as studio monitors, PAs, headphones, etc.

Pwr. Amp + Cab presets use real power amps and guitar speakers.

4-Cable Method (aka :4CM") presets require a special setup with connectors both in front of and in the effects loop of a real amp.

Fx Loop presets in the loop of a real amp. A loop may be SERIES or PARALLEL and the preset needs to be built accordingly.

Gtr Amp Input presets should be used in front of a (real) head or combo. Guitar->Axe-Fx->Amp Input.

Other setups also exist (e.g. combinations of the above).

The Axe-Fx II manual (chapter three) includes more information about setups.

"Cab" search results ignore the settings of this filter.

More Trey for FW19!

After the beta I went back to using the TS 808 OD models instead of the 808 MOD models for the drive pedals -- the MOD pedals had too much low end in them when I played with them loud. Tweaked them to sound more like my sliver-modded Analogman TS-9 and they're pretty stellar now.

Cleaned up the amp a bunch for my main PRS guitar. It was overdrive too much and not working well for the clean, funky stuff. It's much better now.

Re-worked the rotary a bunch based on the Columbia, MD 2014 shows -- there's less horn and more bass rotor in the sound now. It churns more than swirls, especially when the drive blocks are on.

Updated delay block 1 to be a much more prominent tape delay with longer delay time and less feedback. Great for ambient-jam Phish.

For a IR I am totally in love with The Cab Factory's TAF-2X12-V30-[R121-SM57] mix from their Silver bundle (http://www.thecabfactory.com/bundles/). Andy has finally produced a 2x12 V30 IR that I think fits the bill. If you don't own this bundle try the TAF_Art+TangoJR-MIX IR from the factory cabs as a decent replacement.
