Description I'm aiming for the studio album tone here. Play in stereo too. It sounds to me like they have done something to the sample rate of the guitar tracks. You can hear this on A Sort of Homecoming, Pride (in the name of love), and Bad, Zooropa, Do You Feel Loved, and Last Night On Earth - to name a few. you should be able to hear right away at the start and throughout these songs what took me a long time to figure out what this sound was ... the sample rate of some of the recorded instruments seems to have been lowered to give a unique sound. I have had zero luck finding information about this but after fiddling around in the Ableton Live Recording DAW about 9 years ago I stumbled across this effect where you could lower the bit rate or sample rate of the track - so when I lowered the sample rate and heard what it did, I thought holy shit, that's what this sound is in all these songs I'm hearing but couldn't figure out what is causing it. So I explained this on the forum here and requested to Cliff in the wish list if he could add sample rate reduction - and sure enough he did - and I thought how fricken cool is that....
