Description There weren't that many up to date replications of this yet on Axe-Change and the forums regarding the Eddie Van Halen W/D/W tone from 1990-1996, so I thought I would create my own with some flexibility in mind. You have the option to switch between using the 5150 Block, or the SLO 100 head, both using the Stock 5150 Cabs. Phase 90 script and Flanger are bypassed by default. Scene 1: 5150 Block Scene 2: SLO-100 The chain runs Cab 1 Dry after the Detune straight into the output, while Cab 2 runs the Wet side with 2209 delays set at 250/500ms Left and Right respectively. Because of the Axe FX II XL's Cab Block limit, each delay is panned around 95% +/- To replicate the Wet/Dry/Wet "Tri-Stereo" effect that Ed used during this time, and still uses today. This allows the dry tone to remain centered in the mix, while the delays will fill out the rest of the space in the left and right. Adjust Gain, Noise Gates, etc. to taste. Tested this on an Jackson HT6 with Bareknuckle Juggernauts, and monitored through PreSonus Eris 3.5 Reference monitors.
