Determining Your Setup

The "Setup" filter helps you to focus on those presets best-suited for how you use your Axe-Fx.

FRFR/Direct presets (like all of the Factory presets) are designed for "full-range flat-response" systems such as studio monitors, PAs, headphones, etc.

Pwr. Amp + Cab presets use real power amps and guitar speakers.

4-Cable Method (aka :4CM") presets require a special setup with connectors both in front of and in the effects loop of a real amp.

Fx Loop presets in the loop of a real amp. A loop may be SERIES or PARALLEL and the preset needs to be built accordingly.

Gtr Amp Input presets should be used in front of a (real) head or combo. Guitar->Axe-Fx->Amp Input.

Other setups also exist (e.g. combinations of the above).

Description Tone Match from the Type O Negative album "World Coming Down". I've been feeling saucy, so I sat here for an hour and tone matched a bunch of Type O albums. In the traditional sense, I guess Type O don't have the greatest guitar sound ever, but it's so unique and it suited them well. I love it. I think the tone matches come pretty damn close. I'm happy with the outcome. Lots of "Ka-whore-us", reverb, delay, rotary and flanger. Also, shoutout to Cooper Carter of G66 and Leon Todd for having some of the best and most comprehensive Youtube tutorial vids out there. Those guys truly are monsters when it comes to the Axe FX. Mix and match the scenes to your liking. In Scene 1, it's better to only have the main distortion block on for rhythm guitar. Kick on that extra shredder block for leads, although it gets nice n' noisy. Signal path - ESP Black Metal Eclipse w/ SD Black Winter - Axe FX 2 (w/ Matrix 800fx power amp) Ampeg 4x10 and Line 6 4x12. Again, I just used a snapshot of my other Type (O) Negative presets and used the tone match block in reaper. USA Pre Clean is the amp.
