Determining Your Setup

The "Setup" filter helps you to focus on those presets best-suited for how you use your Axe-Fx.

FRFR/Direct presets (like all of the Factory presets) are designed for "full-range flat-response" systems such as studio monitors, PAs, headphones, etc.

Pwr. Amp + Cab presets use real power amps and guitar speakers.

4-Cable Method (aka :4CM") presets require a special setup with connectors both in front of and in the effects loop of a real amp.

Fx Loop presets in the loop of a real amp. A loop may be SERIES or PARALLEL and the preset needs to be built accordingly.

Gtr Amp Input presets should be used in front of a (real) head or combo. Guitar->Axe-Fx->Amp Input.

Other setups also exist (e.g. combinations of the above).

The Axe-Fx II manual (chapter three) includes more information about setups.

"Cab" search results ignore the settings of this filter.

Description I've created a preset that is meant to resemble the tones John is getting with his Dumbleland & Dumble ODS on the Dead & Company Tour. For example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=be1POFzQsug I love the big tone he's getting there this can be attributed to the abundance of mids in the Dumble. The preset has been created with two Scenes one clean and one on the OD channel. For the the clean I've chosen the Dumble ODS Clean in the fractal. The overdrive Channel has the ODS HRM as a baseline however I've swapped the Tonestack for a Skyline tonestack changed the position to pre and edited some values so that it connects nicely to the ODS Clean. The ODS Clean is a 6L6 skyline Dumble so I've converted the ODS HRM close to that. In addition to that there are also some effects in the presets. 1. A filter block that mimics the QTron auto-wah 2. A KOT drive block that gives a nice boost 3. A Maxoff 808 block with the diodes swapped to 1S1588T. Should be close to the TS10 John is using. There is also a Uni-Vibe & Harmonic tremolo due to personal liking for these effects. Reverb is the Deluxe Spring reverb and there is an option slapback delay that can be turned on. Channel B of the Reverb also has the "South Church" which should be close to how John has been using the Bricasti M7 occasionally. To top it all of the speakers are EVM 12S IR's that are available in the stock IR's these really do give the amp a nice big sound without getting muddy.
