Determining Your Setup

The "Setup" filter helps you to focus on those presets best-suited for how you use your Axe-Fx.

FRFR/Direct presets (like all of the Factory presets) are designed for "full-range flat-response" systems such as studio monitors, PAs, headphones, etc.

Pwr. Amp + Cab presets use real power amps and guitar speakers.

4-Cable Method (aka :4CM") presets require a special setup with connectors both in front of and in the effects loop of a real amp.

Fx Loop presets in the loop of a real amp. A loop may be SERIES or PARALLEL and the preset needs to be built accordingly.

Gtr Amp Input presets should be used in front of a (real) head or combo. Guitar->Axe-Fx->Amp Input.

Other setups also exist (e.g. combinations of the above).

Set Up Direct

Description Preset for two amp+cab pairs for left/right stereo matching of King Nothing isolated studio guitar tracks. Must be paired with my "Load L" (for cab 1) and "Load R" (for cab 2) IRs. Axe-Change isn't letting me upload a combo Preset-Cab bundle. For direct recording with analog guitar input, record from OUT 2 which gives DI guitar signal on Left and Amped signal on Right. If recording a guitar part for left channel, bypass only the AMP 2 block, otherwise bypass only the AMP 1 block. For re-amping from DI tracks, route stereo DI tracks in and record from OUT 1 in stereo with both AMP blocks not bypassed. For live stereo playing from 1 guitar, configure I/O->Audio Input 1 Mode to Left-only and un-bypass both AMP blocks. Best results achieved with medium output pickups at 7.5% Instr In setting in I/O -> Input menu with guitar tuned down 1/2 step from standard E.
